The assignment was: “To combine with the worlds most advanced technology and to merge well with the four seasons. To design energy saving housing based on data which proves the effect of energy saving and to send such information to the world and society.” We designed a simple house, formally and conceptually. Nature finds the most simple, purest, and wisest solutions to maintain. We believe we can do the same in architecture. Designing in a rich architectural context like Japan even makes it more valid to take such a position. We believe that to design sustainable, we should divine a sustainable way of living. Nature changes in the form of four seasons, to which the architecture and life-style of this passive low-tech cheap house adapts.
